African Water Wanderers helped us out with safety at the tube race again this year - free of charge.We are extremely grateful for their help. Check out what they have to offer below (click on the image to enlarge it).

Tube race entries available on Monday

A limited number of tube race entries are available on Monday. They will be given on a first come, first served basis. To garuantee a spot send an e-mail with the details of your team to stbriverfest@gmail.com to book a tube and life jacket in advance.

Tube race entries extended until Thursday

The deadline for tube race entries has been extended to Thursday as a result of the university holiday last week.

There are a limited number of places available so please book you spot soon by sending an e-mail stbriverfest@gmail.com listing the number of teams you would like to enter or by completing the appropriate entry form.

You must book so that we can arrange for enough lifejackets etc on the day. Remeber that helmets and closed shoes are compulsory.

Tube Race Entries

To enter the tube race please download and complete the appropriate entry form using the links provided below or on the right of this website (once directed to the Google Docs page click "File" and select "Download" or alternatively press CTRL+S).

Completed entry forms must be e-mailed to stbriverfest@gmail.com before 13:00 on 14 September. Remember, places are limited so make sure you enter asap!

Tube race entries open on 1 September

Entry forms for the Inter-Koshuis tube race will be available on this site from 1 September. Entries close on 17 September. Limited spaces and equipment are available so be sharp!

First Eerste trip of the season

4 paddlers snuck in a midday run of the Eerste from a few kilometers above the Hangbrug down to the Piet Retief Street Bridge. The river was running a bit higher than race level last year and so it was a great opportunity to see if more water is a good idea this year. The verdict.....YES!!!!

Monday 24 September 2012 - Get ready!

The 2012 Stellenbosch River Festival will take place on Monday 24 September (Heritage Day) and will again consist of a K1 canoe and a tube race. The water release has been guaranteed and there will be more than last year so be prepared.

The event will form part of Stellenbosch's Heritage Day festivities and there will be plenty to do and see for spectators and supporters along the river.
